Setting the Record Straight About a Military Draft

There has been a great deal of concern from HSLDA members over two bills currently in Congress, S.89 and H.R. 163. Both of these bills would reinstate the draft as early as spring 2005.

Some sources claim that President Bush and the Pentagon are planning to re-introduce the draft after the election and that HSLDA is linked to supporting the draft.

HSLDA is NOT supporting a draft. We have posted S.89 and H.R. 163 on our website simply to inform our members of their existence.

Furthermore, a spokesman for the Bush Administration has told HSLDA that they have no intention of supporting a draft.
