Legislative Goals for the 107th Congress
Home School Legal Defense Association

Issue Description

HSLDA and the National Center for Home Education have developed the following legislative goals based on issues that are likely to come up during the 2001-2002 session of the United States Congress.

Some of these items are more achievable than others, and obviously, we have no control over the legislative calendar. In each of the past Congresses, home schoolers have found themselves on the offensive to defeat bills that threatened our freedom. In the 106th Congress, for example, the issue was stopping national testing.

Here are the three major areas of concern we have identified, followed by a detailed list of specific issues.
