Assembly Bill 1675: Step-Grandparent Visitation

Assemblyman Michael J. Spano (93rd District)

Summary:
This is a step-grandparents visitation bill which was opposed as further violating the right of parents to direct the upbringing of their children. Current law already permits visitation by biological grandparents under certain circumstances.

Status:
This bill was introduced on January 22, 2003, and placed in the Assembly Committee on Judiciary.
While the first year of the 2003-2004 session of the New York legislature ended June 20, 2003, this bill could be re-introduced in January of 2004.

HSLDA's Position:
This bill was opposed.
