House Bill 618 (LD 867): An Act Regarding Child Protection Proceedings

Summary: This bill would have made the information contained in Child Protective Services records confidential. While Child Protective Service records are already confidential, this bill would have made the information and facts in those records confidential, thus prohibiting parents from discussing anything relating to an investigation. The bill was amended to allow use of the department records or information for the purposes for which the information was disseminated, and further dissemination as otherwise allowed by law.This bill would have made the information contained in Child Protective Services records confidential.
