Senate Bill 602: An Act Concerning Family Law - Children - De Facto Custody

Sponsor:
Senators Mooney, Brinkley, Hafer, Lawlah, and Munson

Summary:
Bill allows a relative of a child to receive custody without going through the Department of Social Services, when a court has declared the parents unfit. The Maryland Legislature adjourned before this bill could be considered, thus resulting in the death of the bill.
