Senate Bill 103: Homeschools Defined as Nonpublic Schools

Summary:
This bill defines homeschools as nonpublic schools and creates three types of homeschools. This legislation clarifies and simplifies the reporting requirements for homeschools.

Status:
This bill was introduced on May 8, 2003, and was sent to the Senate Education Committee. The Senate Education Committee voted 4-0 in favor of SB 103 and the full Senate passed the bill on June 10, 2003 were the bill was sent to the House. After the House Education Committee voted 9-1 in favor of the bill, the entire House passed the bill on June 24, 2003. The bill was signed into law on June 30, 2003.
