House Bill 1983: An Act Concerning Academic Challenge Scholarships

Author:
Representative Mahoney

Summary:
This bill permits homeschool students to take end-of-course tests to qualify for Academic Challenge Scholarship Program. The problem with this bill is that end-of-course tests are based on the public school curriculum, so public school students have a distinct advantage. This bill should have been amended to use another type of test such as the SAT or ACT.
